Hospitals warned to guard against cybercrime after Medibank and Optus wake-up calls

Australian hospitals have been warned they could be forced to pay ransoms to criminals to keep patients safe as the cyber security threat escalates in the aftermath of “wake-up call” attacks.

Healthscope is a for-profit Australian company which operates private hospitals, medical centres and International pathology services. The company is headquartered on St Kilda Road, Melbourne. It operates medical/surgical hospitals and a number of psychiatric and rehabilitation clinics.

As at June 2019, Healthscope was removed from the official list of ASX traded companies due to the Brookfield takeover.

Saudi Crown Prince Immune From Suit Over Killing, US Says

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman can’t be sued in the US over the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi because as a head of government he’s immune, the Biden administration told a judge.

The administration was responding to a request from US District Judge John Bates in Washington for input about sovereign immunity in a lawsuit filed by Khashoggi’s fiance, Hatice Cengiz. If the judge adopts the US finding, it would effectively end the lawsuit.
