PM says he won’t force Australians out of their cars, as government launches its electric vehicle strategy

The Prime Minister says he will not do anything to force Australians into electric cars,

as the government announces its new strategy for zero emissions vehicles.

Instead, the federal government will partner with the private sector to fund

50,000 charging stations in Australian homes, in a bid to encourage more people to buy electric vehicles.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison said he had no problem with electric vehicles,

but he opposed governments telling people what to do.

Mr Turnbull subsequently said Mr Morrison, his former treasurer, had “a reputation for lying”.

The French Ambassador to Australia later countered during a National Press Club address that the jettisoned subs deal was a “stab in the back,” and accused Mr Morrison of being intentionally deceitful.

The Prime Minister has this week also fronted up to a major U-turn in policy to now support electric vehicles, despite mounting a scare campaign on them at the last election.

Reports of death in people who have been vaccinated

As the number of people being vaccinated has increased, so has reporting of fatal events with a coincidental association with vaccination.
