A Global Tax On Carbon

Remember the carbon tax?
Thought it was dead and buried?
Well now there’s a new global tax on carbon – backed by the Turnbull Government – fresh from the Paris Climate Talks.
As Bjorn Lomborg of the Copenhagen Consensus Centre put it, this could be the “most expensive treaty in the world” with economic impacts to the global economy costing between $1-2 trillion every year from 2030.
That’s equivalent to the entire economic output of Australia each year.
Every. Single. Year.
That’s in addition to the handbrake it’ll put on our economy, the hike in electricity prices hitting every family, and the $100bn in ‘climate aid’ earmarked from taxpayers in economically successful countries to subsidise less efficient and more expensive renewable energy sources in developing countries.
All for nothing.
If you oppose your hard-earned taxpayer dollars being used to subsidise inefficiency and political grandstanding, now is the time to act.
The ATA will be fighting the agreement and its impact on Australian taxpayers. The Paris Climate Talks are dominating the news cycle and it’s critical that a strong voice of reason is heard right now.
